Objective, Activities and Expected/Achieved Results:

This project aime at enhancing the value of natural resin through the development of hydrogenated rosin and its derivatives, with applications in the sustainable bioeconomy.

This initiative, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and led by Gum Chemical Solutions S.A., focuses on industrial R&D to stabilise rosin by reducing its colour and odour, while increasing its thermal and oxidative resistance.

The project anticipates a transition to industrial scale through the implementation of a scale-up unit, with the goal of positioning Portugal as a benchmark in the production of high-performance biological resins.
